E-ternity Helps Cargojet Protect Their Business with Disaster Recovery Solution

This move was aimed to demonstrate Cargojet’s ongoing commitment to delivering aggressive service levels to their valued customers. 2005 has been an exciting year for Cargojet as it marks the date the company officially began trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange! “Demonstrating that our business can withstand a number of potential threats is an ongoing goal that we have always had for all of our stakeholders,” said Anju Virmani, Cargojet’s Chief Information Officer. For assurance that they were taking the right approach, Cargojet turned to E-ternity to assist them in developing their Disaster Recovery program.
After the initial assessment of Cargojet’s IT infrastructure, E-ternity proceeded to develop an end to end high-availability solution for Cargojet, including failover capabilities in the event that their primary site was compromised. This solution was anchored by IBM’s industry-leading BladeCenter blade server technology and EMC’s acclaimed Clariion Storage Area Network solution. The solution also comprised of VMware’s virtualization software, EMC/Legato’s RepliStor Data Replication software, and TELUS’ world-class hosting services. Cargojet also invested in TELUS IP-One Managed Voice Over IP Services to enable seamless re-direction of telephone calls in the event of a system outage. Finally, E-ternity engaged their Business Continuity Management Services team to develop a Disaster Recovery Plan for Cargojet. E-ternity has branded this solution Fortress™. Fortress™ is E-ternity’s end to end solution that comprises of components from all three of their solution portfolios and offers them to the customer in a fixed monthly program.
